Full-time UX Designer

at Starcount in UK

Can your user experience and data visualisation skills bring over a billion customers to life for the world’s leading brands?

Are you ready for your next UX challenge, designing B2B products and applications that are critical to our clients understanding of and interaction with their customers? Do you want the opportunity to work on products that are going to market in weeks rather than months?

Starcount analyses the most insightful data available today: social media data, market data and customer data, informing everything from board level strategic decisions to individual customer communication.

As a UX Designer you will take a lead role in turning data into actionable customer understanding for the world’s leading brands, media owners and agencies through innovative and intuitive data visualisations and user experience. Our products will leap off the drawing board as you deliver new data visualisations, create user flows, mock up UIs and deliver rich and engaging UX across our entire product portfolio.

Why work with us?

● You will be part of a growing team, working on a wide variety of projects that are central to the continued success of the company.
● The opportunity to work with industry-leading Data Scientists in visualising their insight so that they can be applied at massive scale and volume.
● A wide-ranging variety of big data sets that pose different challenges and opportunities for manipulation.
● The opportunity to apply the latest UX trends while creating value for the company and its clients.
● A welcoming start-up environment that is low in bureaucracy and high in excitement.

You will be…

● Intelligent, with good design/UX skills and an appreciation of what is feasible in technical terms.
● Someone who relishes the challenge of working on B2B products and applications, rather than B2C products and applications.
● Experienced at creating designs for business intelligence use-cases
● Very strong creatively – both visually and in other mediums.
● Someone who enjoys working with different disciplines to arrive at the best visual design and approach for implementing it.
● Capable of working independently and able to process constructive suggestions for improvement in your work.
● Up to date with the latest technical, design and UX trends, and interested in innovating and exploring these in your own time.

About Starcount

Starcount is a customer intelligence consultancy which helps brands, from retailers to car manufacturers, identify and acquire new customers, retain existing customers and launch in new markets by fully understanding millions of consumer passions, mindsets and motivations.

Most brands understand their customers through functional loyalty i.e. what and when they have bought in store or online. However, through analysing multiple data sources, Starcount looks ahead to anticipate and influence future buying-intent. We combine both functional and emotional loyalty data to create actionable insights to transform and grow your business.

Starcount is led by data pioneers Edwina Dunn and Clive Humby, pioneers of Tesco Club Card.

Our Culture and Values:

Our team are defined by five core values:

● Passion – We believe in the power of data to reveal new customer behaviours and motivations which when harnessed correctly can transform the responsiveness and ultimately value of a business.
● Intellectual Diversity – We respect and celebrate that we are a team of people with different skills and problem solving capabilities. It is these differences that enable us to see patterns and create tangible value from data that others cannot.
● Curiosity – Although we understand data, we continue to innovate with new systems and new data sources. We also invest time and effort in building our knowledge of each business that we work with, including its customers, products and channels.
● Customer First – It is our goal to understand customers better than anyone else. We do this by putting the customer and his/her decision making at the heart of all of our work and recommendations. Today, customers expect to be understood and to receive timely and relevant offers, even as they change life-stage and lifestyle.
● Collaboration – We see our role as working with and alongside our clients, helping them to make more of their data assets and to create an embedded and lasting legacy, driving growth and value.
We work in an open plan office that includes other high tech businesses right in the heart of Oxford Circus. We have a fun social culture with regular showcase (lunch and learn) sessions and after-hours social functions, all adding up to a balanced work-life environment with a 4pm finish on Fridays!

If this sounds like a team you would like to be part of we would love to hear from you.
